On August 16, 1986 Hong Kong Restaurant opened its doors in the West end of Cloquet. With no other Chinese restaurants in town at the time, the new establishment quickly outgrew its building. On December 26, 1997 Hong Kong moved to its present location on Highway 33. Brought from China, the beautiful, intricate carvings and decorations give the Hong Kong its appeal. Wing Lau performed the majority of work on the new building, with help from many friends and volunteers.
